PosterSteals.com started as an attempt to help poster and artwork lovers find best prices for their desired products. As avid admirers of posters and art (vintage prints in particular), we were astonished at how much prices for the same products differed across various online poster stores. It was not unusual for relative savings to reach 10-20% per poster. Sometimes prices for the same product differed by hundreds of dollars!

In the summer of 2005, the idea of PosterSteals.com was born. Our aim was to create an easy to use virtual store where visitors would browse the catalog while being exposed to the best product prices. The biggest issue became product matching because (unlike home appliances, for example) posters and art prints lack any model numbers by which they can be identified. However, after several months of headaches, a powerful yet simple way of matching the products was developed and implemented.

The AI engine was finished in February 2006. Shortly after, the work on the website began. In May 2006, the PosterSteals.com website went into the beta-testing phase and was finally launched on May 28th.

Our plans for the nearest future include representing more poster merchants, as well as introducing new exciting features for the website visitors which would make their shopping experience easier and more convenient. We are constantly at work updating and enhancing PosterSteals.com, so stay tuned!
